GRADE 2Second graders return to a study of the holidays on a somewhat more sophisticated level. They will concentrate on melodies and practice for the Fall Holidays and the Winter and Spring Festivals as well as deepening their knowledge of Shabbat liturgy. Each child will complete their own Jewish calendar for the year. Hebrew learning will be continued and reinforced. GRADE 3This focus of this class is focus on the connection between ourselves and our Biblical ancestors in ancient Israel by studying Bible stories, including the prophets and their message. The study of modern Israel begins in the third grade, and formal Hebrew instruction begins on Tuesday afternoons. Hebrew vocabulary continues to be reinforced on Sunday. GRADE 4The focus of the fourth grade curriculum is solidifying knowledge of the relationship between the Bible stories and Jewish festivals. An introduction to Jewish ethics and repairing the world prepares students for the fifth grade year. |
