Rabbi Jason Holtz
Rabbi Holtz has many different roles in
our congregation. He is a passionate teacher of both adults and youth, a
pastoral caregiver, a worship leader, and an organizer. His courses
frequently reflect his strong interest in Jewish philosophy, Jewish
ethics, and early rabbinic literature. As a pastoral caregiver, he is
committed to supporting all members of the community during their times
of need. As such, he has assumed the task of assisting the Caring
Community, a group of lay congregants, to provide assistance and support
to ill and bereaved congregants. As an organizer, Rabbi Holtz has
started and leads the Temple's Young Adult Group (YAD), which has seen
participating from dozens of individuals in their twenties and thirties.
Furthermore, he is also known as "Coach", as he started and manages the
Temple Softball team.
Rabbi Holtz is orginally from Ormond
Beach, FL. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in
philosophy and international relation and was ordained a rabbi by the
Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion at Cincinnati in 2010.
He is married to Jodi Brinn Holtz, a teacher at Mesa Verde Elementary
School.
