Religious SchoolAugust 2003From the Desk of Rabbi FreelundReligious School is right around the corner, and its not too late to get your child involved in Jewish learning. Every student in Temple Emanu-El's Religious School deserves the best experience of Jewish education possible, and all of our resources are dedicated to that end. Our teachers of Hebrew, Judaica, Art, Music, Drama, and Dance are committed to the growth and development of every one of our students into the best Jews and the best people they can be. If you, or a family you know could benefit from this opportunity, please tell them about our Religious School. If you would like to learn more about what our Religious School has to offer, then you should come to our Religious School Orientation and Registration on Sunday August 17th at 9:00 AM. There you will learn about what we do on a day-to-day basis in school, what subjects our students study, as well as opportunities for involvement as a parent. Also, there will be an opportunity to register your child for school that morning, if you haven't done so already. Our first day of Religious School will be on Sunday, August 24th at 9:00 AM. This will be a special day, starting off with a Shabbat Family Workshop. This will be an interactive experience for all of our students and parents to learn more about Shabbat observances, such as candles, kiddush, blessings, songs, foods, and more! The workshop will run from 9:00 until 11:00 as an introduction to the school year. All families, whether registered for school or not, are welcome to this event! Our first day of Hebrew School is on Tuesday, August 26th, fgorm 4:0 - 6:00 PM. This will also be the first day of our new and improved Eighth Grade class, where our recent b'nai mitzvah can continue their Jewish learning with me on a regular basis. I am very excited about working with our Eighth Graders this year, as they are an exceptional group. If you have any questions or concerns about Religious School, registration, or would like to be involved as a parent in making our school the best place it can be, please give me a call at 327-6722. I look forward to hearing form you and seeing you very soon. |
