Check out what's happening this week in the Religious School by reading our Week at a Glance!

At Temple Emanu-El, our goal is to have your child understand the joy and beauty of Judaism. We believe that learning should be fun.

Our Religious School meets every Sunday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Every session begins with T'filah, our communal prayers, which serve to reinforce our students' familiarity with the basics of Jewish worship. Children from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade are educated in History, Bible, Ethics, Theology, Customs, Holidays, Life-cycle events, Israel, and the Holocaust.  View our Religious School curriculum or our Religious School Week at at Glance.

In addition to classroom activities, students participate in enrichment areas led by our specialists in music, Hebrew, and dance. Special school-wide events are planned in conjunction with our holidays, to build bridges between classroom learning and personal practice.

Temple Emanu-El's Strauss Early Childhood Education center offers a complete program for children six weeks to five years. Please take an online tour of our facility and educational program.

Hebrew School meets on Tuesday afternoons, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The linguistic focus is on T'filah, or prayer Hebrew. Students progress at their own pace rather than according to their grade in secular school. Periodic assessment tests are given to determine students' learning level and class assignment.

Temple's rich course of study provides solid training for each child as they prepare for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the important rite-of-passage that recognizes the Jewish child's entry as an adult into the sacred community of Israel.

9th grade classes leading to Confirmation are held in conjunction with the Tucson High.

Tucson's School for Jewish Studies is affectionately called "Hebrew High" by local teens. Students can continue with their studies through twelfth grade and receive a diploma for their ongoing commitment to Jewish learning.

Temple Emanu-El's educational program also provides varied and exciting classes in Adult Education.
