TORAH TOTSThis class will meet every Sunday morning for children six weeks through three years old and their parents or guardian. Each Sunday, the children join the rest of the Religious School for Shacharit services and then join their teacher for a 30-minute program. Appreciation for Torah, simple Hebrew language, stories, poems, dancing, and crafts enhance their Jewish experience. PRE-KINDERGARTEN Pre-Kindergarten is new for the 5766 school year. It is for children who are four years old and is designed around Shabbat and other major Jewish Holidays. Shabbat blessings and the symbols of these holidays will be introduced, as well as: Hebrew words for the family, counting, days of the week, songs and simple prayers. KINDERGARTENThe children will continue to focus on different Shabbat blessings and also prayers from selected holidays such as Hanukkah and Passover. They will continue to use and add new vocabulary to their Hebrew training. They will be introduced to the Hebrew alphabet through an Aleph Bet coloring book. They will continue to experience the symbols and customs of the major holidays. GRADE 1The first grade students begin the year by preparing for their part in the ceremony of Consecration. The focus for the rest of the year will be on Bible stories and the Hebrew alphabet. Students will expand their knowledge of the Shabbat liturgy through participation in the Primary Grades' Junior Congregation. They will complete their own Aleph-Bet book. |
