Women of Reform Judaism - The Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El

Sisterhood is a service organization for Temple Emanu-El. Our members work together to provide programs and activities that benefit the Temple and the community. Since 1913, Sisterhood has been a collective presence, voice and strength of Reform Judaism. Sisterhood committees and task forces are organized to:

  • Maintain the Gift Shop (see below)
  • Organize programs such as Spaghetti under the Sukkot, Hanukkah Bazaar, Passover Seder, and Purim Carnival
  • Provide educational speakers
  • Help feed the homeless
  • Provide campership funds and support for the Religious School

Anyone, man or woman, who would like to join us is needed and welcomed as a member of Sisterhood.

Mission Statement

The Women of Reform Judaism of Temple Emanu-El, Tucson, Arizona, provides educational, spiritual and financial support to our youth in the Jane and Sam Kurn Religious School, thereby perpetuating and ensuring the future of Reform Judaism. WRJ builds, maintains and nurtures a vibrant constituency of Jewish women at Temple Emanu-El and in the community at-large, through education, social action, innovative spiritual programs and celebrations.  In the pursuit of our mission, and in tandem with the goals of our national organization, we advocate for social justice and contemporary issues affecting women and children, Israel and the environment.
