Building on Our Legacy:
Temple Emanu-El Strategic Planning

Dear Congregant:

In the Fall of 2007 the Board of Directors voted to establish the Temple Emanu-El Strategic Planning Committee to guide the development of a strategic plan for Temple. Since that time, the Committee held several focus group sessions culminating in a focus group summary report. In addition, detailed demographic membership data from Temple resources was gathered. With this information in hand, key strategic planning themes were developed by the Committee for inclusion in this Temple-wide survey.

Successful strategic planning is built on a process of asking questions and finding answers in ways that ensure every member of Temple has an opportunity to participate. Our goal is to engage the entire congregation to address the questions of "Who are we as a Temple today?" and "Who do we want to be as we move into the future?" In this way, all of us can share our dreams about how Temple can better serve our needs in the future. We hope that you will help to make strategic planning a success by participating in this survey. Please complete the survey no later than May 30, 2008.

Directions for Completing the Survey

1. You can complete the paper survey and return it to Temple in the postage-paid, self-addressed envelope OR you can compete the online survey:

2. The Temple Emanu-El Strategic Planning Congregational Survey is divided into seven sections. We encourage you to complete all those sections that are of interest to you.

  3. Temple Worship
  4. Temple Programs
  5. Membership and Communication
  6. Education
  7. Finance

3. You can submit this survey as an individual or for your family as a whole.

  1. If you are using the paper survey and if other family members wish to submit the survey individually, please make copies for them.
  2. If you are using the online survey and if other family members wish to submit the survey individually, each family member can access the online website separately.
