What better way to rejoice in God's creation than by celebrating Shabbat in the great out of doors? Temple Emanu-El's Wandering Jews Hiking Club experiences the magnificence of the Sonoran desert and the beauty of Shabbat by combining a Shabbat hike with either a Shabbat morning or a Havdallah service at least once each month.

Information on the August Hike:

Join Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon as we hike the Marshall Gulch Trail to the Aspen Trail Loop and enjoy a lovely Shabbat morning service in the natural sanctuary that God created!

Our hike is 3.7 miles round-trip,with moderate elevation gain for the first 1.2 miles and then a traverse descent into Marshall Gulch. The hike is rated moderate to difficult with some rocky sections of trail.

Bring good hiking shoes, hat/kippah, tallit, plenty of water, snacks or lunch. There is a nominal $5 fee for a one-day use permit payable at Molino Basin (lower Mt. Lemmon).

We encourage you to carpool to the trailhead as parking is limited.

DIRECTIONS: Take Tanque Verde to Catalina Highway, proceed up Mt Lemmon through Summerhaven descending shortly to Marshall Gulch.Marshall Gulch is located below Summerhaven, about 30 miles from the base of Mt. Lemmon.Meet at the trailhead at 8:00am.To carpool meet at the Northeast corner of Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway, behind McDonalds at 7:00am and carpool to the trailhead.
