What better way to rejoice in God's creation than by celebrating Shabbat in the great out of doors? Temple Emanu-El's Wandering Jews Hiking Club experiences the magnificence of the Sonoran desert and the beauty of Shabbat by combining a Shabbat hike with either a Shabbat morning or a Havdallah service at least once each month.

Information on the Passover Experience in the Desert:

Bring your picnic supper and a flashlight.

Meet at the trailhead and hike to the Mica Picnic area, enjoy a picnic supper, and a musical and fun Shabbat evening service. Round trip hike is 1.4 miles.
The trailhead is located at the far east end of Broadway. This is considered an easy hike. There is a sign for the trailhead on the left. The trail is flat, unpaved with occasional ruts. Parking is along Broadway or in the median.
