What better way to rejoice in God's creation than by celebrating Shabbat in the great out of doors? Temple Emanu-El's Wandering Jews Hiking Club experiences the magnificence of the Sonoran desert and the beauty of Shabbat by combining a Shabbat hike with either a Shabbat morning or a Havdallah service at least once each month.

 

*May 4, 2013:

Join Rabbi Samuel M.Cohon and the Temple Emanu-El's Wandering Jews for a Shabbat morning at the top of Wasson Peak in the Tucson Mountains.

We will hike approximately 7 miles roundtrip to the top of Wasson Peak on The King Canyon trail.

The parking lot for the trailhead is 0.1 mile past the entrance to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum on the right side of the road. The trail is rated moderate to difficult with elevation gain. Bring good walking shoes, hiking boots, hat, water and light snack.

Directions:

Go west on Speedway over Gates Pass to the intersection of Kinney Road. Turn right on Kinney Road towards the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. The parking area for the trailhead is 0.1 mile past the entrance to the Desert Museum on the right.
